Implementation Science Workshop

Dr. Lumpkins attended the MS-CEDI (Mountain States - Community-Engagement Dissemination and Implementation) workshop in Flagstaff, Arizona for a Training Institute in Flagstaff, Arizona August 6-10, 2023. She shared her research experiences with the Faith Works Connecting for a Healthy Community Consortium and Partners within the Greater Salt Lake City area.

Dr. Lumpkins gave a presentation for the National Cancer Roundtable on Tuesday, June 13. The Roundtable focused on Prostate Cancer Prevention and Genetic Counseling and Testing among African American men.

Dr. Lumpkins and Faithworks consortium member, Dr. Lynn Miller co-presented at the American Medical College of Genetics Annual Conference on Thursday, March 16 in Salt Lake City. The presentation focused on research conducted in the Kansas City area in 2021 and was titled "A Community Based Participatory Research Pilot Project to Increase Awareness of Cancer-Related Genetic Counseling and Testing Through Communication Asset Mapping"

Dr. Lumpkins spoke at the Region 3 GMaP (Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program) Technical Training Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 9. She shared her research experiences as a National Cancer Institute K01 Mentored Science Awardee while at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dr. Lumpkins held a book signing with her father, Rev. Israel Boyd Simms Groves, Jr. at the Lucile Bluford Library in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2 p.m. This is her first historical fiction novel co-authored with her dad. The coming of age story is loosely based on the life of her grandfather who rode trains and traveled with hobos across the Southwest as a teen in the 1930s.
